The purpose of this blog is to share with others the life of your average Illinois farm girl. I want to share the stories, trials, and successes of my family and our farm. I am fourth generation Shorthorn breeder and farmer’s daughter. My family has over 150 head of purebred Shorthorn cows. We also farm corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. Recently, I married into a family with Angus and Simmental cattle who also have a farming operation. My husband and I and our Corgi dog have picked up our rural roots and planted them in the capitol city of Illinois. Even though we don’t live on the farm we are still very active and highly involved in both operations.
I have a deep passion for agriculture and photography. My family works hard every day to provide others with high quality and safe food, clothing and so much more. It takes our whole family to keep everything going and sometimes that isn’t enough. We don’t get many days off and vacation is an unspoken word around our house, but we wouldn’t trade what we do or the friendships we have made for anything!
Thanks for stopping by the blog,
